Jari Burgers is a medior data engineer at Blenddata. Jari found a job soon after graduating, but as the only data engineer here, he missed colleagues to learn from and spar with, as well as colleagues his age. He says: “I decided to look for an employer where I did have these colleagues.”
The position of data engineer at Blenddata was exactly what I was looking for. “Jari’s curiosity and pleasure in learning and discovering new things applies to his work, but also outside it. “At work, I like to keep learning and developing every day. But privately, I also have several passions. I have been involved with music all my life and even worked as a DJ for a while. I also do a lot of sport: especially running and cycling. And as a hobby chef, I bite into different types of cuisines.”

“My duties consist of supporting the development team by, among other things, developing code and giving tips on how they can do things better. In this way, I help take the team to the next level. I also gather from stakeholders inside and outside the company what the wishes are for the coming time, and then convert them into actions.”
Jari spends half of his working week in engineering and the other half in consultancy. “Whereas at the start of this project the focus was precisely on my work as a developer, my focus is now more on project management skills. I would like to further master these so that I can eventually take the lead from Blenddata at the next customer.”

“At Blenddata, you as an employee are central. They look at what you find important and what you want to grow in, and then work on this. Since I started at Blenddata, the company has become bigger and more professional. However, the atmosphere has not changed: cosy, open and equal. I enjoy going to work every day.
After work we have drinks together on Fridays and once a month there is a monthly meeting where all colleagues are involved and get an insight into how things are going within the company. We combine these with a snack, a drink and often an activity. For this, everyone can come up with ideas. Sports, a game, a beer tasting: anything goes. We also go on holiday together every year. I also regularly do sports with colleagues: from a cycling trip to running the Eindhoven half marathon together.”
