Roel Smits is one of the three founders of Blenddata. He says: “Blenddata wants to build solutions that make an impact on end-user processes, so that new opportunities and business models become reality for our customers. The absolute basis for this is a sustainably designed platform. With proven methodologies, we can make this scalable and accessible to all large and medium-sized companies where data is part of the service delivery.”
Co-owner and founder Vincent Fokker started Blenddata in 2021. Vincent: “I saw a lot of opportunities for data engineering and, after graduating, started looking for a place where I could delve further into this. To no avail. There were hardly any such places and at the software companies that did deal with data engineering, I couldn’t see myself working. Together with Lars and Roel, I decided to start a company myself. That became Blenddata.”
After studying Psychology in Engineering and Data Science & AI, Délano was looking for a place where he could develop in a family atmosphere. At Blenddata, he can grow, not only technically, but also in consultancy and project management. He participates in challenging projects and gets space for his broad interests, such as sports, music and cooking. “Blenddata has an eye for you as a person: for your wishes and your development both inside and outside work,” says Délano.
Jari Burgers found a job soon after graduating, but was the only data engineer who missed colleagues to learn from and spar with, as well as colleagues his age. He says: “I decided to look for an employer where I did have these colleagues. Besides, I thought it would be interesting to do something with consultancy. After all, I enjoy changing contexts a lot and acquiring new domain knowledge all the time. The position of data engineer at Blenddata was exactly what I was looking for.”
He says: “At 44 years old, I am the nestor of this club. I was working as a freelancer when I was asked if I was interested in joining Blenddata. I was keen to take up that challenge. Blenddata is a young club with enthusiastic, smart people and a great product. Moreover, the company has a lot of potential: every organisation struggles with a data problem. I also like the phase Blenddata is in. We have passed the real start-up phase and there is a nice foundation.”
Levy started his journey at Blenddata as a working student alongside his master’s degree in Data Science in Business & Entrepreneurship. During his side job, he worked on internal tools and gained experience with new technologies. For his graduate internship, he researched how Gen AI could be applied in customer projects, and that research yielded immediate results. After his internship, Levy decided to fully join Blenddata as a junior data engineer. “Blenddata gives you the opportunity to try new things and discover your passion step by step,” says Levy.
Bram Reinders studied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence at Eindhoven University of Technology and carried out his graduation research at Blenddata. Bram: “Whereas other graduates often work alone, I had experienced people around me. I could draw on their technical knowledge. This lifted my project to a higher level.”
