Do you provide the strong shoulders on which an organisation can build? As a senior platform engineer at Blenddata, you will design the smartest cloud solutions and support your team and the business on the route to success. You translate complex issues from the business into a technical roadmap and guide both customer and team on the route to a robust, scalable and future-proof data platform.

You work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and security, and actively contribute ideas on how our customers can work data-driven: secure, efficient and manageable. At the same time, you will coach less experienced colleagues and contribute to our internal vision on platform engineering.

What does a Senior Platform Engineer at Blenddata do?

For customers such as Rabobank, De Lage Landen, Damen Shipyards and Nationale-Nederlanden, you design the foundation on which data products are built. You are responsible for realising cloud-native infrastructure, setting up CI/CD processes and creating a secure and scalable runtime environment.

As a lead in technical discussions, you help determine the architectural choices to be made. You are a sparring partner of customer architects, monitor the quality of implementations and make risks transparent. You ensure that developers and data engineers have a platform that really works: including logging, monitoring, authorisation, networking and pipeline automation.

Besides customer projects, you also help Blenddata itself move forward. You help think about standards, internal tooling and knowledge sharing within the platform team.

What is expected of me as a Senior Data Engineer at Blenddata?

You have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure components such as Azure DevOps, AKS, Key Vault, Container Registry, Monitor, and Networking
You have mastered tools such as Terraform, Bicep or Pulumi for Infrastructure-as-Code
You can set up and maintain CI/CD processes (e.g. with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or ArgoCD)
You ensure secure setup with RBAC, secrets management, identity management and network security
You know how to implement and maintain logging, monitoring and alerting (e.g. Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana)
You are structured and analytical, can easily make abstractions and have a problem-solving mind
You are able to translate complex business issues into technical solutions
Taking clients and stakeholders on a journey comes naturally to you. You know how to keep an overview and spot opportunities
You think along about strategy and manage expectations well with technical and non-technical stakeholders
You coach less experienced colleagues, give constructive feedback and are a technical conscience within the team
You contribute to drawing up internal standards, architecture choices and platform guidelines

What does our perfect match look like?

You have at least 4 years’ work experience as a Data Platform Engineer
You have a completed university degree (WO) in Computer Science, Data Science or another quantitative field
You have the ambition to take data platform engineering to the next level. You create impact within your team with best practices and knowledge sharing
You see opportunities and know how to convince customers. Advising and building trust come effortlessly to you
You communicate in a way that suits your audience. Whether they are technical or non-technical stakeholders, your advice is clear and well thought-out
You keep an overview of projects and take your team with you. By delegating effectively and resolving bottlenecks, you ensure structure and progress
You help clients move forward with a proactive approach. By managing expectations well and setting priorities, you deliver real value
You enjoy working in a team and contribute to an open and informal culture
You speak and write Dutch and English fluently

How will you be rewarded for this position?

Salary: between €4,200 and €6,000 per month, depending on your experience
