What does a Junior Data Engineer do at Blenddata?

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will collaborate on data-driven solutions for clients such as Rabobank, De Lage Landen and Damen Shipyards. You will build modular data pipelines that unlock data from different systems, prepare them and prepare them for analysis. Together with experienced colleagues, you will not only learn the technology, but also how to really help customers.

Together with your colleagues, you work as a knowledge partner for our customers. In a close-knit team, you will learn from experienced engineers while building modular data pipelines that process data efficiently. You play an active role in the team, mastering new technologies and adding value to projects that are future-proof and scalable.

What are some of the work I will be doing as a Junior Data Engineer at Blenddata?
  • Developing scalable and robust data pipelines with technologies such as Azure, Python, Spark, Airflow, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Building modular data pipelines and data platforms based on our validated services framework.
  • Implementing CI/CD and testing for the data pipelines.
  • Developing new functionalities in short sprints, following SCRUM principles.
What does our perfect match look like?
  • You have a completed university degree (WO) in Computer Science, Data Science or another quantitative field.
  • You have gained experience with Python and SQL during your studies and are familiar with one or more of the following technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Spark or Terraform.
  • You are eager to learn and have the ambition to learn data engineering by applying software engineering best practices.
  • Spotting opportunities and advising customers in an informal way comes naturally to you, meanwhile you build long-term relationships with customers.
  • You enjoy working together in a team and contributing to an open and informal culture.
  • You enjoy coming to the office at least 2-3 days a week to benefit from your colleagues’ sociability and knowledge.
  • You speak and write Dutch and English fluently.
How will I be rewarded for this position?
  • Salary: between €3,150 and €4,500 per month, depending on your experience.
